About the Department
The Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE) is situated within theBiological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHEaims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041. TheUniversity of Chicago\'s position on the South Side makes it uniquelysituated to test, treat, and prevent new HIV infections in a highlyaffected population. The South Side communities and majority Blacksuburbs connected to them to the South represents the largest contiguousBlack population in the United States. By using our integrated HIVtransmission elimination approaches, we are beginning to make newinfections in these communities less frequent.
This is a grant funded position.
Job Summary
The candidate will assist with day to day operations of funded projectsthat involve working with LGBTQ and criminal justice involved (CJI)individuals. They will oversee several research projects with someoversight from the Research Manager and the Director of Research.
The candidate will be expected to actively pursue required knowledge andskills for professional development, and stay informed about the NIH andCDC regulations and requirements. The candidate will report to theDirector of Research. Funded projects include COVID testing, HIV care,PrEP care, network science, substance use.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities
Assists with day-to-day operations of CDC and NIH funded projectsthat involve working with LGBTQ and criminal justice- involved (CJI)populations vulnerable to COVID and HIV.Coordinates multiple related projects to ensure optimal recruitment,enrollment and fidelity to the complex requirements of studyparticipation and follow-up counseling.Assists with the development of study protocols, survey instruments,and maintenance of databases.Coordinates and conducts research studies.Recruits; screens for eligibility and consenting participants;delivers assessments, interventions, and controls; performs dataentry, and issues referrals to COVID testing and service programmingwhen appropriate.Prepares for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted bystudy sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated reviewgroups.Participates in study-related documentation, such as protocolworksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutionalreview board documents, or progress reports.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or theequivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have afour-year degree).
