　　Summary:

　　Genomic Datasets

　　Responsible for storing, accessing and analyzing large "omic" and whole genome datasets locally and in the cloud in order to collaborate with other members of the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center in defining the molecular and cellular basis of Alzheimer's disease. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

　　MRI Advanced Applications

　　Responsible for advanced applications of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in aging research within the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center.Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

　　Responsibilities:

　　This position may be responsible for Genomic Datasets or MRI Advanced Applications job responsibilities.

　　Genomic Datasets

　　• Create, manipulate, annotate and merge large and complex biological data sets.

　　• Develop, implement, and execute novel and existing techniques for processing omics data, cross-omics, and cross-species analysis in the investigation of genome-wider brain networks. Will need to stay informed about new methods in omics and understand how to apply them appropriately

　　• Develop and program statistical data analysis of large data sets efficiently using parallel computing locally and in a cloud environment.

　　• Develop, package and document software for use by Rush staff and others.

　　• Interpret results; identify potential problems and their solutions. Perform simulations to support statistical methods development.

　　• Develop and maintain quality control procedures and documentation for analysis methodologies

　　• Will work closely with physicists, biomedical engineers, neurologists, and neuropsychologists on omics projects in aging.

　　• Assist with the training and supervision of other staff in appropriate use of new techniques.

　　• Prepare results for publications, work with collaborators in writing publications and, in some cases, take the lead in writing publications. Participate in writing grant applications.

　　• Other duties as assigned.

　　MRI Advanced Applications

　　• Develop and implement novel image analysis techniques for in-vivo and ex-vivo multimodal brain MRI data (including, but not limited to, longitudinal analysis of brain MRI data, integration of functional and structural information, analysis of functional and structural brain networks, development of MR-based biomarkers).

　　• Apply advanced image analysis techniques on brain MRI data from a large aging cohort, and combine MRI data with a plethora of available risk factor, clinical, and post-mortem data.

　　• Develop and maintain quality control procedures and documentation.

　　• Work closely with physicists, engineers, neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuropathologists, biostatisticians, computational neuroscientists on imaging projects on aging.

　　• Support manuscript and grant-writing efforts.

　　• Assist in the training and supervision of other staff in appropriate use of new techniques.

　　• Other duties as assigned.

　　Other information:

　　Required Job Qualifications:

　　• Ph.D. degree in Systems Biology, bioinformatics or related computational biology field OR Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Medical Physics, or related discipline.

　　• 3 years of experience working with complex data sets and or omics OR 3 years of experience in neuroimaging with MRI and modalities such as functional MRI, diffusion imaging, MR brain morphometry, quantitative susceptibility mapping, susceptibility-weighted imaging, MR perfusion, or MR relaxometry.

　　• Strong programming skills.

　　• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

　　• Ability to prioritize and manage own work.

　　• A clear interest in collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork.

　　• Highly-motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented.

　　• Ability to work independently.
