About the Department
The Chicago Center of HIV Elimination, embedded within the University ofChicago\'s main campus in Hyde Park, is located in Chicago\'s HIVepicenter. Of the 20 neighborhoods in the city with high annual HIVdiagnosis rates (greater than 40 per 100,000), 13 of them are no morethan eight miles from the University of Chicago. This area includes 4 ofthe 6 communities with the highest annual diagnosis rates in the city(Washington Park, West Englewood, Greater Grand Crossing and SouthShore). Our position within the hardest hit neighborhoods in Chicagoprovides unique opportunities to advance HIV testing and preventioninterventions locally, providing tangible results to those most affectedand to improve the lives of those living with and without HIV infection.CCHE seeks to eliminate new HIV transmission events over the next 30years (from 2011 to 2041) by using network science to target andintegrate prevention as well as create structural and community-specificinterventions.
Job Summary
The Research Assistant will assist the PI and the Research Coordinatorswith day-to-day operations of funded projects that involve working withLGBTQ and criminal justice involved (CJI) individuals. The candidatewill report to the Manager of Implementation Research. Funded projectsinclude COVID testing, HIV care, PrEP care, network science, substanceuse.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities
Supports recruitment by screening for eligibility and consentingcommunity members.Delivers assessments, interventions, controls.Supports data entry.Compiles progress reports and documents study procedures/methods.Offers referrals to service programming when appropriate.Conducts literature reviews and supports manuscript and grantwriting.Prepares for or participate in quality assurance audits undersupervision or following specific protocol procedures.Participates in study-related documentation, such as protocolworksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutionalreview board documents, or progress reports.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
