  Bachelor's degree

  One year plus of experience

  Experience with MS Excel, Office, REDCap and statistics, knowledge of Dropbox, Google Forms, Wordpress and social media, mainly Twitter

  Strong interpersonal skills and professional verbal communication skills

  S trong organizational skills

  Experience working as a team player yet also able to work independently.

  Department:NutritionPre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:Research Position Description: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  Responsible for the coordination and conduct all aspects of negative prostate biopsy, prostate cancer, colon cancer, bladder cancer and colon polyps follow-up for tissue block and slide collection

  Obtain consents from study participants diagnosed with cancer for review of their pathology specimens

  Makes requests to numerous hospital pathology departments regarding the acquisition of pathology specimens

  Maintain database to log responses of participants and hospital pathology departments

  Prepare documentation for database files used for these study projects

  Organize and maintain files of all correspondences and participants' records

  Prepare pathology specimens for review by study pathologists

  Enter data from pathology review findings

  Revamping and maintaining storage and tracking system of all pathology specimens

  Coordinate the tracking system of specimens to pathology departments when necessary

  Update database systems to accommodate changes in study protocols

  Provide research support and statistical analyses for the investigator

  Utilizes internet, directory assistance and other sources for telephone and mail contacts

  Other duties include coding medical questionnaires from participants

  Assist Assistant Project Manager with other disease follow-up projects as needed

  PLEASE NOTE: This is a part-time benefits eligible position with a schedule of 22 hours/week.

  PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term end date of 1 year from the date of hire with the possibility for extension.

  PLEASE NOTE: Some local travel will be required.

  Job Summary: The mission of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is to improve human health through better nutrition and lifestyle. The Department strives to accomplish this goal through research aimed at an increased understanding of how diet influences health at molecular and population levels, the development of nutritional strategies, informing policy, the education of researchers and practitioners, and the dissemination of nutrition information to health professionals and the public.

  The Health Professionals Follow-Up Study (HPFS) is a large epidemiological study which began in 1986. The purpose of the study is to evaluate a series of hypotheses about men's health relating nutritional factors to the incidence of serious illnesses, such as cancer, heart disease, and other vascular diseases.
