Description: A Staff/Principal Electrical Engineer job is currently available at Belcan working REMOTELY from anywhere in the US. We are searching for a professional with expertise in FPGA programming and Electrical/HW engineering to join our exciting team with focus on Avionics Systems and Defense Products. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in the engineering field, and a minimum of 12 years of experience within the aerospace industry, specifically with avionics experience or other highly regulated industry experience.
Job duties:
Candidates will be involved in leading and providing oversight for various engineering tasks including:
· Program requirements decomposition, analysis, definition, and traceability
· Program requirements verification (acceptance test plans, test reports, analysis reports, inspection reports) and validation for Avionic Certification
· Lead FPGA programming/development in Verilog/VHDL/System Verilog
· Program estimation and planning including developing and monitoring the technical implementation of highly innovative and ingenious solutions to unusually complex problems
· Operate at the technical interface with customers and assigned teams and mentor the team to effectively create work products with no major defects.
· Development of engineering processes & policies
· Candidates are expected to mentor younger engineers, help grow teams, coordinate new business with customers, assist in aligning manpower resources to accomplish key objectives, and report status to technical leads and project managers
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related engineering degree from an accredited institution.
· Self-motivated, adaptable, highly organized and possess excellent communication abilities
· 12+ years focused FPGA development or Electrical/Hardware development/integration experience - preferably with aerospace software/systems, power systems, or complicated technical systems.
· Advanced knowledge and skills which enable the organization to capture and effectively execute work either in a specialty area or highly flexible across multiple domains and lifecycle activities.
· Required highly proficient experience in FPGA verification, System Verilog/UVM
· Required experience in FPGA development, Verilog/VHDL
· Regulatory experience preferred: Aerospace, Automotive, DO-254, Mil Standards
· Ability to deal with ambiguity, to be adaptable, to work across multi-discipline teams, and to drive results
· Willingness to travel as needed
· Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is a required
Desired Skills:
· Develop and test printed circuit board (PCB) designs
· Develop and Create testing procedures and maintenance for electronic equipment and components based on performance specifications
· Interpret schematic diagrams, select components, and build electronic circuits
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $104,000 to $160,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
