SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Working under general supervision, this position is responsible for project leadership and ongoing IT management for one or more small-to-medium sized operational areas and their applications within the Penn State Health. This position must lead project teams of IT personnel and other department personnel in planning and executing projects in operational areas. This position will also likely have system administrator responsibilities for one or more application suites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Lead large departmental projects or multiple smaller projects according to a defined project management process
Analyze user business needs, document requirements, and translate them into appropriate system requirement specifications for the selection of commercial applications and/or the creation of custom programs
Prepare team documents and give presentations as required
Work with other operational areas to ensure the effective and integrated delivery of IT services as required for assigned projects and routine operations
Resolve application production problems and perform required documentation
Serves as a liaison with the client community
Formally document, design, manage, and/or operate in accordance with cyber security requirements.
Responsible and accountable to comply with cyber security policies, standards, and processes in accordance with the Enterprise Cyber Security Program Plan.
Meet agreed upon commitments
Train and mentor less experienced IT employees.
Maintain a working relationship and ongoing communications with vendors (e.g., concerning routine enhancements, problem resolution, and planning)
Use vendor-supplied tools to perform ad hoc reporting
Configures off-the-shelf applications for use by our business users.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Either a Bachelor's degree plus four (4) additional years of related experience or eight (8) years total of related experience required.
In-depth knowledge of at least one area of information technology and a solid working knowledge of several areas of information technology required.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
4+ years experience as system administrator of bed management/patient throughput software (e.g. TeleTracking XT / IQ Suite).
Experience with ADT interfaces between EMRs and bed management software.
