We are currently seeking diligent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technicians to join our dynamic Pharmacy Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing Prior Authorizations to determine coverage for a healthcare insurance company's pharmacy department. Your main tasks include approving or denying authorizations and forwarding them to Pharmacists for final review. You will manage various health plans and handle all types of medications.
You will also process prescription exceptions which may include resolving claim rejects, conducting member and physician outreach, entering member demographics and prescription information into our data processing system, researching and resolving rejected insurance billing issues, escalating member issues when necessary, and consulting with Pharmacists regarding prescription queries. Additionally, you may be tasked with assisting with inbound and/or outbound calls to patients or physicians, ensuring a smooth and efficient service is provided.
Hard Skills:
Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as per state requirements
Basic computer skills
Certified Pharmacy Technician
Registered pharmacy technician in the state of residence
Experience with NHA or PTCB preferred
Soft Skills:
Strong computer skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
Work Environment:
This is a remote position requiring a dedicated workspace with a door, robust wifi connection, and the ability to work within multiple screens and systems. All necessary equipment, such as a computer, monitor, and headset, will be provided.
Shift:
Candidates must be flexible with their schedule, available Monday-Friday from 8am-8pm based on their time zone, with a rotating weekend schedule every 4-6 weeks, and the ability to work some holidays. Bidding will be available for holiday schedules. Training will be provided from 10am-6:30pm EST, after which regular shifts will be assigned.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of pharmacy experience
