Position Description We are currently seeking a part time (24 hour) Rehabilitation Aide at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Shifts are:Monday 7:15-11:15am, Tuesday-Friday 7:15-12:15pm, 1-2 holidays per year. The Rehabilitation Aide provides safe and appropriate basic patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. As a member of the rehabilitation team supports a safe and positive patient experience by assisting in the delivery of care and performing delegated multi-skilled basic patient care services. Provide support and assistance to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as (but not limited to): mobility, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), movement and ambulation, and positioning. In addition, may provide support to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as therapeutic exercise programs, group exercise programs, mobility volunteer aide program, and swallowing studies. This position is a great fit for Allied Health students (PT/OT/SLP) who are looking to gain experience in a rehab setting! · High school graduate or equivalent required. · Customer service experience and computer literacy required. · Patient care experience highly preferred. · Minimum of 1-year work experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. · CPR validation may be required within 3 months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement. · Allied Health Students (PT/OT/SLP) encouraged to apply! * * Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements * · Must be able to physically lift and move patients in a safe manner · Able to work efficiently as a team member both within and across clinical settings to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration* · Open to change, feedback, and considerable variability in the workplace* · Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information · Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use). · Knowledge of medical terminology · Effective Communication and interpersonal skills We take great care of careers.
