  Responsibilities

  The Registration Representative may be responsible for the accurate check-in/admissions of incoming patients in the hospital setting as well ED setting. This includes the verification of patient demographic information, collection of insurance data, the identification and/or creation of appropriate accounts, and the collection of indicated co-payments and/or share of cost. The Registration Representative is required to ensure patient safety using positive patient identification protocols and obtain the appropriate consents as required. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit’s performance expectations.

  Qualifications

  High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant experience

  OR

  Bachelor’s degree required

  Additional Requirements include:

  Ability to read and communicate effectively

  Basic computer/keyboarding skills, intermediate mathematic competency

  Good written and verbal communication skills

  Knowledge of proper phone etiquette and phone handling skills

  Position requires good communication skills. Prior desk, appointment, or secretarial experience and a working knowledge of scheduling systems and procedures are preferred. Must have the ability to interact on a professional level with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.

  Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended; $18.95 - $24.66 / hr.

  Schedule Details

  Evening/overnight schedule 20 hours a week; 40 a pay period. May be asked to work other shifts to support a 24/7 work environment. Typical shift hours are 2pm-10:30pm/10pm-6:30am. This position is assigned to the Emergency Department which requires flexibility.

  Weekend Schedule

  Overnight weekend and holiday shift rotation. Every other weekend/holiday rotation. May be requested to work more or less to support a 24/7 work environment. Weekend shifts qualify for shift differential.
