Essential DutiesCompletes admissions/discharges according to facility policies.Initiates, implements and updates Integrated Care Plans to provideholistic health care to clients. Assigns and supervises nursing care ofclients by Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses. Observes,assesses, implements and documents nursing action in response to changein client behavior and/or condition. Plans, implements and evaluatesprocedures that maintain safe client care. Obtains and transcribes orcountersigns all physician orders. Administers or directs theadministration of medications and treatments. Initiates and/or assistswith emergency and crisis intervention measures. Provides and/or directsclient education. Initiates and contributes to client dischargeplanning. Complies with departmental Quality Assurance Standards andparticipates in Quality Assurance monitoring. Assists Unit Manager inthe completion of position appraisals of Nursing Assistants and LicensedPractical Nurses. Participates in the orientation of new personnel.Makes unit rounds and attends staffings with physicians, recordingphysician observations and orders. Inputs MDS (Minimum Data Set) data inthe nursing facility.
