JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties The Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury RegisteredNurse will function as an integral member of the Spinal Cord Division.These are exciting opportunities to work in a diverse environment.Position offers opportunities to provide bedside care for acute andchronic disease management, palliative care patients, rehabilitation andcomplex medical patients. Responsibilities of the incumbent in thisposition include but are not limited to: Managing the day to day needsof an acutely ill patient population with spinal cord injuries/disorders(SCI/D) Medication administration and documentation requirements Healthpromotion, Veteran/Caregiver education and supporting patientself-determination Collaborative practice with interdisciplinary SCI/Dteam Application of principles of rehabilitation nursing care to promotethe highest level of functional independence Adhering to establishedsafety practices, delegating and guiding assistive personnel, andsupporting process/quality improvement initiatives on the unit andacross the organization Preferred Experience: BSN Preferred Acute carenursing experience preferred Interest or experience inSCI/Rehabilitation Nursing preferred Ability to multitask and managecomplex patient needs High level of flexibility/adaptability needed tomeet fast paced environment Strong interpersonal, oral and writtencommunication skills Committed to supporting a healthy work environmentCRRN (Rehabilitation certification preferred.
