JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Provides compassionate, culturally sensitive,holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting theMercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan. Mayinclude variable shifts, weekends, holiday and/or on-call hours.Performs other duties as assigned including floating to various unitsbased on identified needs and clinical competency. ResponsibilitiesUtilizes the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration withinterdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Performsassessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care Administersprescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approvednursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, andstate laws/practice act as required by care setting. Ensures alldocumentation is accurate and comprehensive in accordance with theestablished standards of care for documentation at the system and entitylevels. Develops initiates and executes a patient plan of care accordingto the patient\'s individualized needs, as prescribed by the physicianand/or hospital policy. Utilizes resources available to teach andsupport patient and family education. Provides education to theappropriate level of understanding. Participates in department or unitperformance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.Utilizes clinical expertise & guidance to other units/departments insupport of the patient\'s longitudinal plan of care. Acts to resolvesystems breakdowns and engages self and others in providing solutionsUtilizes critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patientexperience, manages complex situations and delegates to other staffappropriately. Escalates to the appropriate chain of command as needed.Positively influences the professional and organizational environmentsand shared governance. Engages in personal development and supportssystem-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth includingdeveloping or revising evidence based practice guidelines. Supports andparticipates in peer review and peer feedback opportunities.Participates in the professional nursing continuum Clinic and AmbulatoryRN\'s will maintain timely flow of patients, in addition to respondingto telephone calls and performs telephone triage of patients. Educationand Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or uponhire BSN completion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSNCompletion Program. If hired prior to 1-1-17 in Winnebago county and9-1-15 in Rock, Walworth and McHenry County an ADN is required. Mayrequire specific years of applicable experience to qualify (perdepartment guidelines) Certification/Licensure Licensed as an RN instate of practice Approved CPR certification required...
