Float Pool is made up of nurses and certified nurse aids (CNAs) who areproficient and competent in all medical/surgical areas at Denver Health. Inaddition, we have specialized teams for women and children departments,critical care and emergency departments, and acute care departments.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, floats to all in-patient areas and EmergencyDepartment according to scope of practice according to the DH floatingguidelines. First to float to a different unit as the staffing needs of thehospital change. Float RNs are scheduled to meet the needs of a 24/7facility, which may include nights, holidays, and weekends.The professional float nurse adheres to the American Nurses Association(ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANACode of Ethics to provide care to all healthcare consumers. Applies criticalthinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with thehealth care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety andquality outcomes. Utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in dailypractice. "Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, Founder /Director, Watson Caring Science Institute."
Essential Functions:
