This is a continuous recruitment will be used to fill positions in multiple departments as openings become available, including Med/Surg, CCU, ED, OB, Surgical Services, and our Float Pool. You can identify your areas of interest, preferred employment status, and shifts in the application process.
Job Summary:RN I's are typically new graduates or returning to the professional after a prolonged absence. RN I's require direct supervision (i.e., charge nurse or preceptor). Performance is guided by rules and competencies to be met. RN I's are able to recognize attributes (i.e., isolated traits, objective measures, or tasks) of a clinical situation without situational experience. With oversight, the RN I's render individualized nursing care to meet the patient's physical, psychological, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care.
RN II's independently plan and implement routine nursing care in predictable situations using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship.RN II's begin to assume leadership responsibility and need minimal supervision. RN II's will work as a team and maintain effective working relationships, use critical thinking skills, analyze, and communicate findings effectively.
RN III's are at an advanced level and are assigned at least one float area and render individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs. RN III's provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.RN III's independently plan and implement routine nursing care in their assigned department.RN III'sneed minimal supervision.
RNs will be assigned a home unit and may need to pick up at least one float area depending on their RN level. Float Pool RNs may cover ED, CCU, Med/Surg, MHU, OB and RRC as needs arise.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Education:Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. BSN preferred.License:Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.Experience:RN I ($36.85/hour):New graduate RNs or RNs with less than one (1) year current acute care or comparable experience, or RN with no nursing experience in the past five (5) years.New graduates will remain at the RN I level for a minimum of six (6) months after the completion of their preceptee program. Must advance to an RN II within one (1) year of hire.RN II ($41.76 - $49.13/hour):Advancement from an RN I orat least one (1) year, continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting. RNs must remain at this level for a minimum of one year before applying for advancement. Must float to one other unit within one (1) year of appointment.RN III ($43.84 - $51.58/hour):Three (3) years of current clinical experience (current indicates experience within the last five years from time of application) OR one (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN II. Internal advancement note: Advancement beyond RN III based on BRH Clinical Nurse Advancement Program; approval of Professional Practice Review Board. In lieu of fringe benefits, PRN employees receive an hourly differential in addition to their hourly rate between 10% and 25% depending on position level.In lieu of fringe benefits, casual employees receive a $2 an hour casual differential in addition to their hourly base rate of pay.Casual employees will not be scheduled to work a full time schedule for more than four (4) consecutive months or more than 780 hours annually. Casual employees must work a minimum of one (1) shift within a 90-day period to maintain status and employment.Internal Hires:Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
