　　THE POSITION

　　The Department of Human Services, Danville State Hospital provides dedicated, high-quality care to the people who call Danville State home. We are seeking hard-working, enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring Registered Nurses who are committed to providing exceptional care to our consumers.

　　DESCRIPTION OF WORK

　　You will plan, implement, and evaluate consumer care based on standards of nursing practice and standards of consumer care. You will assess consumers’ physical, psychosocial and/or mental health status. You will also assess, record, report, and evaluate vital signs, symptoms, and reactions or responses to medication and treatment.

　　Work Schedule and Additional Information:

　　Full-time employment

　　The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.

　　12-hour shifts are available on 2nd shift (6 shifts of 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM along with 1 shift of 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM in a 2-week pay period), with 30-minute lunch.

　　Rotating schedule with every other weekend off.

　　Works holidays as assigned.

　　May change based on operational needs.

　　Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.

　　REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

　　QUALIFICATIONS

　　Necessary Special Requirements:

　　This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.

　　All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

　　Other Requirements:

　　PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.

　　If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.

　　You must be able to perform essential job functions.

　　Legal Requirements:

　　A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.

　　This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

　　Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
