POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Dental Hygienistperforms selected dental duties that assist in patient care management;these duties are delegated in relation to the degree of training and inaccordance with the objectives and policies of the organization andrespective state laws governing such action and activities. Demonstratesskill in the performance of dental procedures and use of dentalequipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The list of duties and responsibilitiesis not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties andresponsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Provides dental treatment to KCHC patients as evidenced by compliancewith the following standards: Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions,and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dentalinstruments. Examines lymph nodes under patient\'s chin to detectswelling or tenderness. Examines gums for sores and signs of disease.Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets upinstrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dentalprocedures as needed. Take and record medical and dental histories ofeach patient. Assists Dentist in management of medical and dentalemergencies. Provide clinical services and health education to improveand maintain the oral health of patients. Instruct patients in oralhygiene and plaque control programs. Recommend treatment programs forpatients. Prepares exam rooms with equipment and supplies as needed forexamination procedures; cleans and restocks examining rooms asnecessary. Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Educationaland/or Experience Degree in Dental Hygiene required. Possession of StateRegistered Dental Hygienist License required. CPR Certificationrequired. WORK SCHEDULE Open availability to work up to 40 hours duringclinic operating hours, Monday - Thursday, 7am - 7pm, Friday, 7am - 5pmand rotating Saturdays 7am - 3pm.
