  Primary Function of Position

  In this role, you will actively contribute to the U.S. Reception and Placement (R&P) program by assisting with the resettlement and integration of refugees and Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders into the United States. You will play a vital role in helping clients navigate various administrative tasks and essential services during their initial 90-day resettlement period.

   

  Major Position Responsibilities

  Collaborate with Case Managers: Work closely with the Case Managers to fulfill day-to-day responsibilities.General Administrative Tasks: Assist in general administrative tasks, including new arrival intakes, document preparation, and applications for government benefits.New Arrival Services: Aid with various new arrival services, such as airport pick-up, home safety orientation, grocery shopping, applying for a social security card, activating EBT cards, lease signing, setting up utilities, office intake, furniture delivery, bus orientations, paying bills, and cleaning orientation.Core Services Support: Work closely with the resettlement team to provide core services like ESL enrollment, public-school enrollment, cultural orientation, housing applications, transportation to appointments, budgeting, service planning, progress assessment, and home visits.Referrals and Community Connections: Assist with referrals and help refugee clients connect with community services.Data Entry: Enter client data and activities into the shared client system promptly.Professionalism and Engagement: Maintain professionalism and effectively engage with diverse populations.Time Management: Demonstrate flexibility and efficient time management.Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

   

  Work Environment

  This role is in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Some local travel is anticipated as part of the role's responsibilities.

  Team Collaboration: Strong ability to work effectively within a team and interact with diverse groups.Independent Work: Capacity to work independently with safety and appropriateness in mind.Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving and proactive prevention skills.Sensitivity: Display sensitivity to the needs of refugee families, CCS staff, volunteers, and partner organizations.Timeliness: Consistently meet deadlines and complete work assignments in a timely manner.Communication Skills: Proficiency in both oral and written English communication.Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality in interactions with individuals and families.Computer Proficiency: Proficient computer skills for efficient case management and documentation.Personal Qualities: Possess personal qualities of openness, respect, compassion, and graciousness in assisting others.Education, Training, and Experience

  Education Level: Must be a current candidate for a higher education degree, a graduate from an accredited university, or an international language student.Refugee Experience: While preferred, previous experience working with refugees is not required but would be valuable.Language Proficiency: Proficiency in another language is preferred, although not mandatory.

   

  Background Screening Requirement

  Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

   

  Licenses, certifications, and credentials

   

  A current Utah driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance meeting minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident. Also, be 21 years old or older, maintain a clean dr ving record, and can fulfill CCS vehicle safety standards.

   

  Expected Schedule

   

  This is an unpaid internship position requiring at least 15 hours per week, with workdays scheduled from Monday to Friday.
