JOB REQUIREMENTS: Seeking students and adults with sports knowledge! TheCity of Onalaska is hiring Referees/Umpires & Officials. Under thesupervision of the Recreation Coordinator or Manager, employees in thisposition are responsible for enforcing the rules of a game and oversightof any portion associated with specific sports games. Independentlyprovides sport specific rule interpretation to players, coaches, andspectators during sporting events. Essential Job Functions: Administersthe rules of a particular sport. Promotes sportsmanship, cooperation,and teamwork. Teaches participants the rules and regulations of theactivity/sport. Assists with the set-up and cleanup of facilities.Reports injuries, facility hazards, and program concerns to theRecreation Manager or designee. Attends training and organizationalmeetings as needed or requested. Maintains communication with programparticipants, staff and office staff. Resolves conflicts betweenparticipants and between coaches. Other duties as required or assigned.Physical Requirements: The work environment characteristics describedherein are representative of those an employee encounters whileperforming the essential functions of this job. Job Requirements:Student or adult with sports knowledge. Must possess supervision andleadership techniques/skills. Experience playing, coaching or being partof a sport or program of similar nature. High School diploma orequivalent preferred but not necessary. Compensation: Wage range forthis seasonal, limited-term position is \$10.00 to \$40.00 per game(varies with game level).
