The primary purpose of your job position is to assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic
recreational activities for all participants, in accordance with the participant's assessment and care plan. The
Recreation Assistant will proactively identify, develop and execute solutions to enhance the participant experience.

We are looking for compassionate and caring Recreational Assistant to join our LIFE St Mary team. LIFE St Mary Healthcare is a member of Trinity Health PACE. Our facility ministers exclusively to the elderly through a coordinated care model which provides preventive, primary, acute and long-term care services designed to assist older individuals to live as independently as possible while continuing to live within their community.
This position will be housed primarily at the LIFE St Mary facility.

What you will do:
Assist in developing a written plan of care for each participant's activities program that identifies the strengths/needs of the participants and the goals to be accomplished for each opportunity identified.
Assist in development of a monthly calendar of activities.
Assist in providing recreational education and training to support other PACE Center staff members, as appropriate
Develop and implement a quarterly newsletter for participants and caregivers informing them of events and on goings of the PACE Organization. Recreation Assistant
Handle potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices Universal Precautions.
Monitor recreation therapy supplies and equipment inventory as needed to ensure adequate supplies.
What you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
Education or training in geriatrics, including dementia preferred.
Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility
