GENERAL STATEMENT:Under the supervision of the Recreation Manager, the Aquatics Coordinator supervises the daily operations of the James Adkins Pool, and assists with the Gregg Clarke Park Splash Pad. The coordinator develops, administers, implements, schedules, supervises, and evaluates contract and instructional aquatics programs for the City of Kyle and within the community. Additionally, the Aquatics Coordinator will prepare program information and registration, registers, and enroll participants. Ensures patron safety, monitors pool chemical levels, assists with hiring and training of seasonal pool personnel, compose reports for programs; analyzes effectiveness of service delivery; and develops goals and priorities for the recreation department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(STUFF YOU'LL NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO):Oversees and supervises the day-to-day operations of the City of Kyle Aquatic Facilities.Facilitates the delivery of high-quality aquatic and fitness programs and activities including swimming lessons, lap swim sessions, water aerobics, swim teams, adaptive aquatics, pool parties, group aerobics and other aquatic and special events.Oversees and supervises by providing supervision, evaluations, training and delegating duties for all staff, employees and volunteers working in the Recreation Aquatics Division.Oversee aquatic operations and assist in other areas of the department, as needed, including but not limited to camps, community and special events, interns and park volunteers.Ensures all work is done in a productive, safe, and effective working environment.Plan and coordinate the development of promotional material to promote department programs and events by using various marketing techniques and media releases. May prepare weekly and monthly reports and maintain revenue and expenditures reports on assigned programs; may order supplies and equipment for programs.Plan, develop promote, schedule, implement, and evaluate many Parks and Recreations sponsored or co-sponsored community and special events. Provide assistance with community events and holiday activities and support citywide special events by serving on event committees.Performs pool chemistry tests and safety checks and develops and administers a comprehensive maintenance program for the aquatic facilities and equipment including but not limited to:Equipment acquisition, facility monitoring, pool and ground condition monitoring, and evaluation of equipment usage needs and scheduling of replacement.Assist the Recreation Manager with preparing, updating, and providing needed information to the citizens of the community.Researches and modifies aquatic facility and programs, policies, and procedures to further enhance operational efficiency and/or improve patron safety.Miscellaneous:Off Season-Works Hours are Monday-Friday occasional weekends and Holidays.In Season- Work Hours vary depending on the needs of aquatic facility.Attending staff, committee, and council meetings and giving presentations as needed.Provide on-call assistance; respond to any aquatics emergency issues as required.Provide support at various departmental programs/activities.Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.Drives vehicle throughout the city and surrounding areas to make inspections,check on programs and attend meetings.```{=html}
