To provide administrative support in an efficient, timely & professionalmanner to the practice. This includes providing excellent service tointernal & external customers while maintaining an efficient flow ofdaily patient schedule & front office operations. Description Greets &promptly acknowledges patients\' presence in the waiting room Answersthe phone in a timely, polite & professional manner, in three rings orless, directs calls to appropriate persons & takes accurate messageswithin the electronic medical record Checks-in/registers new & existingpatients in the electronic medical record, verbally verifies alldemographic information, verifies insurance authorization, collectsco-pays, & prepares deposits for currier pickup Gives the appropriatepaperwork to the patient to complete, photocopies patient\'s insurancecards, & photo ID Schedule & reschedules patient appointments &/orconsult requests in person or by telephone in the electronic medicalrecord system in accordance to scheduling protocols Maintainphysician\'s daily appointment schedule & prepares charts for thefollowing day?s schedule Edit clinicians\' schedules as needed toinclude time off, sick time, vacation, in-service & meeting timeProcesses cancellations & no-show appointments, & notifies clinician ofchange in schedule Opens & distributes mail to appropriate staffmailboxes, physicians & practice manager Check-out patients & schedulesany follow-up appointments necessary, coordinates orders for laboratory,radiology, other physician?s referrals, etc. Prepare associated formssuch as requisitions or referral forms with review of any prep requiredMaintain patient records including the scanning of documents to filecorrespondence, reports, test results, etc. within the EMR Referpatients with billing inquiries &/or payment questions to the billingoffice Print &/or provide medical records information to outsideagencies & physicians under established guidelines Maintainsconfidentiality regarding patient information in accordance to HIPAAregulations Ensure accurate maintenance of administrative records &works & communicates effectively with co-workers, patients, visitors &other personnel within & outside the practice Maintains harmonious &cooperative relations with fellow employees, medical staff, patients &guests Demonstrate the ability to adjust to unexpected changes to assurethat all responsibilities/ duties are met during absences or increasedpatient volumes Attends departmental meetings Performs allresponsibilities/duties required by the position as defined in the scopeof service, to assure that the needs of the patient are well servedAbility to float to other MACC practices when required Perform otherwork-related duties & activities as assigned or requested QualificationsAbility to read, write & communicate in English High school graduate orequivalent Strong communication & interpersonal skills Experience withcurrent office technology, proficient with computer office applications(Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office, etc.) preferredExperience in an office setting with at least 1 year experiencepreferred Knowledge of various insurance authorization/referralrequirements preferred Medical Terminology knowledge preferred Typingskills at 30 WPM preferred Schedule Details: 40 Hours per week, Mon-Fri,No Weekends & Holidays
