The Becton Dickinson Diagnostic Solutions (DS) R&D team is looking for a Senior Analyst. The Senior Analyst will support the conceptualization and development of software by analyzing business processes, systems, and services in a global company environment to understand the existing landscape and map the scenarios and systems to support our anticipated growth. They will work with product ownership as well as other internal and external stakeholders to create business requirements and user stories and ensure that stories are ready for development.
The candidate will be part of a highly technical software engineering team developing our next-generation molecular laboratory medical instrumentation system. This requires interacting with Software team members and other disciplines such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical and Assay development while adhering to a regulated quality management system. A successful candidate must be a self-motivated positive person who puts team goals ahead of individual accomplishments, has a positive can-do attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, is able to work independently, and has strong influencing skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Works with a diverse team to pinpoint product needs or problems and define product solutions, from concept to delivery
Concisely documents product specifications, acceptance criteria, design details, and user stories so they are clearly understood by the development team
Documents cross-team, cross-instrument workflows as needed for product development
Helps product ownership and product management to manage backlogs and portfolios to drive to product completion
Supports the R&D team as well as the wider BD team to increase overall understanding of the product during and after development
Assist in customer research to guide optimal workflows and designs
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Laboratory background strongly preferred.
Minimum of five years relevant experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Minimum three years of experience in a software or business analysis role
Deep thinking skills
Self-motivated to drive progress
Demonstrated creative and innovative problem-solving ability
Experience with software and systems development lifecycles
Experience in an FDA-regulated environment preferred
Experience working within a laboratory environment is strongly desired
Knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations, ISO guidelines and good laboratory practices
