　　Job Overview

　　Performs high quality pediatric diagnostic radiographic procedures. They willprovide conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safetystandards as defined by the organization. Must be able to communicateeffectively with patients, families, and all hospital and communitycaregivers.Responsible for evaluating and monitoring the quality of all diagnosticradiographic procedures and provides day-to-day direction to other radiologictechnologists and students in all aspects of care and imaging to expeditepatient flow through the Radiology department.

　　EDUCATION - Graduate from an accredited radiography program required.EXPERIENCE - Two years of diagnostic radiographic experience required.CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS and ARRT Registered Technologist required.

　　POPULATION SPECIFIC CARENeonate- 30 days to 1 yrToddlers- > 1 yr to 3 yrsPre-schoolers- > 3 yrs to 5 yrsSchool age-> 5yrs to 13 yrsAdolescent- >13 yrs to 18 yrsAdult- >18 yrs to 65 yrsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOversees radiographic images and monitors quality for all diagnosticradiographic procedures.Facilitates patient flow on a daily basis.Independently performs high quality radiographic images while accuratelydemonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper diagnostic scanningProvides age appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients forprocedures.Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care topatients, families, coworkers and others.Demonstrates and utilizes principles of ALARA in radiation safety managementDemonstrates competency in all aspects of RIS and PACs as it pertains tomodality specific functions and use.Manages patient priority and act as first responder when neededFollows department policies, procedures and protocol.Oversees radiographic i ages and monitors quality for all diagnosticradiographic procedures.Facilitates patient flow on a daily basis.Responsible for the coordination and/or oversight of projects andinitiatives as defined by leadership.Directs the technologist in their daily work and assists with technologistscheduling.Oversees student and new hire training in the radiology department andcommunicates with the school and/or supervisor as required.
