This position is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30am-12:30pm.
This position supports the Radiology Department. Candidates must have prior experience working in hospitals or physicians office. Must have medical terminology knowledge.
The Radiology Scheduler performs a wide variety of specific and specialized duties, using independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. This position requires knowledge of procedures and policies related to the Radiology Department and functions as team player. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands.
The Radiology Scheduler utilizes excellent customer service skills with callers and patients requesting appointments. Schedules appointments for all imaging procedures (as well as Pulmonary and Neurology Testing). Checks for payers’ pre-authorization requirements and enters pre-authorization number in the system prior to scheduling the imaging exam and cross covers the Radiology reception desk as needed and performs patient registration.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year experience in medical or customer service working environment
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with engaging telephone manner and presence.
Computer knowledge and expertise. Meditech experience preferred.
ICD10 knowledge a plus
