Job Overview
Performs high quality pediatric diagnostic imaging procedures. Providesconscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standardsdefined by the organization. Performs administrative duties including but notlimited to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenanceof records. This position is responsible for communicating regularly withpatients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers whilefollowing department expectations for interactions with patients and families.This position is required to be on call depending on the position's location.Curious about a day in the life of a Radiology Technologist at CHCO?

Responsibilities
Provides patient care to all of these age groups:Neonate- 30 days to 1 yrToddlers- > 1 yr to 3 yrsPre-schoolers- > 3 yrs to 5 yrsSchool age-> 5yrs to 13 yrsAdolescent- >13 yrs to 18 yrsAdult- >18 yrs to 65 yrsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAn employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of thefollowing essential functions. These examples do not include all of thefunctions which the employee may be expected to perform.Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, whileaccurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent andhigh priority patients.Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients forprocedures.Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care topatients, families, coworkers, and others.Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipmentfollowing safety procedures and protocols.Utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensuresproper radiation safety practices.Maintains required competency in dose reduction techniques and the ImageGently Campaign.Demonstrates and maintains competency and ability to use all aspects ofRadiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records(EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as itpertains to modality specific functions and use.In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide BasicLife Support (BLS) until help arrives.
