Job Summary
Under the direction of a radiologist, performs general radiographicexaminations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision on thenight shift. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entailapplication of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strongtechnical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisiteprofessional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as ageneral radiologic technologist.

Radiography Technologist II: Level II is intended for candidates with 1 - 3years of experience with required fluoroscopy competency. Denver Health isinvested in its team members, and we will help you get here if you do notyet qualify! On the job training is available to qualify for this level.
Essential Functions:
Performs high quality general radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging studies byselecting specific software parameters that will produce a quality image foruse by radiologists in their determination of a diagnosis. To provide thenecessary data for radiologists to interpret images, the technologist scansall relevant clinical information into the PACS, assigns prioritization boxfor the radiologists' worklist, and then transmits current (andcomparison images, when applicable) to the PACS. These activities must becompleted immediately following examination completion, not to exceed 1hour. Prepares and assists in administering contrast agents and determines anypotential allergies to ensure compliance with departmental practices.Acquire and maintain super user status for Fluoroscopy units.A thorough clinical understanding of intricacies of fluoroscopy necessities.Successful implementation of knowledge encompassing a diverse set of practicalskills to ensure safe and effective application of specialized medical imagingtechniques within Fluoroscopy.Provide cross coverage support when staffing needs arise.Ensure retention of competencies by completing a benchmark number of performedstudies.Acquire and maintain super user status for specialized perioperative serviceimaging needs. This includes, but is not limited to, the O Arm and 3D C Arm.Provide comprehensive training on all nuanced functionalities and operationalintricacies of the advanced perioperative imaging systems to fellowRadiography Technologists.Acquire and maintain super user status for all radiographic imaging equipmentincluding fixed and mobile units.Provide comprehensive training on all nuanced functionalities and operationalintricacies of the imaging systems present for use by RadiographyTechnologists.Ability to access PEX editor on fixed units (Siemens) to amend protocolsas needed.Acquire and maintain super user status for all imaging software used for imageacquisition, patient charting, and storage.Must be able to effectively schedule a patient from beginning to end in Epic.This includes inpatient and outpatient workflows.Troubleshoot issues in Epic to ensure imaging orders can be accessed andutilized.Acquire and maintain knowledge of all pediatric subspecialties including allessential mobile imaging standards along with Non-Accidental Trauma studies.(30%)
Effectively interacts with Denver Health's PACS system th ough compliancewith data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, imagequality assurance, and other related user interface activities. Uses Epic toinput patient examination data and to place patient orders, whenappropriate. Notates within the appropriate electronic/hardcopy document,as necessary, all pertinent patient information to comply with patientscreening, ordering, charting, and medical record requirements(e.g., Epic's "Ticket to Ride" electronic handoff document,Radiology's hardcopy pregnancy questionnaire). (25%)
Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by followingappropriate patient care guidelines to include use of 2 patient identifiers.Transports patients to and from the Department of Radiology, as needed, toprevent patient flow delays. (20%)
Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking,and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized whenperforming general radiographic examinations. Maintains imaging and processingequipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests; results of allcleanings and tests are documented, as appropriate. Contacts servicepersonnel and notifies supervisory staff of equipment malfunctions. Maintainsa clean and orderly working environment through wiping down examinationtables, changing linens, stocking supplies, and washing/disinfectinggeneral radiographic equipment. (20%)
