JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Performs radiographic procedures and relatedtechniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images forphysician interpretation. May be required to alternate shifts, weekends,holidays, and take call. May be asked to flex hours and overtime asnecessary to provide quality patient care at assigned sites(s).Works aspart of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees andparticipating in projects as requested. Responsibilities Performsdiagnostic radiographic procedures. Depending on clinic assignment, mayalso perform patient reception, phlebotomy/specimen collection duties,rooming patients, and taking vital signs. Corroborates patient\'sclinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented andavailable to the radiologist and provider. Prepares and positionspatient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desiredresults, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety. Selects and operatesimaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfullyperform procedures. Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic areaof interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Immobilizes patientas required for examination. Assumes responsibility for provision ofphysical and psychological needs of patient during procedures. Initiatesbasic life support when necessary. Determines radiographic technique andexposure factors. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimizeexposure to patient, self, and others. Processes images and reviews forproper identification and quality control. Uses radiology informationsystems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports,submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.Provides practical instruction for radiography students and otherpartners. Observes universal protocol, standard precautions andappropriate patient identifiers.
