Job Description Summary:
Conducts primary research to gather, analyze and communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to help the business develop strategy, improve the customer experience and make informed decisions and/or meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Manage advisory panels, works with external vendors for participant recruitment, location selection and rental, technology needs, moderation and transcription.
Manage research process using the Qualtrics system, includes methodology design, sampling strategy, programming, testing, list management, and reporting and presentation of results.
Blue KC participant on the Blue Intelligence Group (BIG), Participation in the BIG group involves a) forwarding requests from other Blue Plans to the appropriate Blue KC personnel, managing/tracking the responses b) sending BIG requests from Blue KC internal clients to BIG participants at other Blue Plans, managing and communicating the responses.
Manage the Blue KC Listens member panel. Works with Blue KC internal clients to obtain survey topics that will help the business, turn those ideas into online surveys administered in Qualtrics, analyze and communicate the results to appropriate internal personnel. In addition to managing panel invites and newsletters.
Engage with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Customer Experience and Analytic teams in support of brand, member and local research efforts.
Manage vendors for quantitative and qualitative research. Works with vendors to receive project bids, questionnaire design, project updates and final reports.
Assist with regularity requirements. Helps ensure research is conducted and reports are written to meet regularity and accreditation needs.
Serve as a consultant to other departments at Blue KC. Developing research projects to meet their business needs, developing the research design, managing the research, analyzing the data, and communicating the findings with recommendations.
Lead member feedback efforts on Blue KC member, provider, broker and unauthenticated portals via Qualtrics platform.
Facilitate survey and reporting requirements in support of Blue KC’s CAHPS and NCQA annual reporting requirements.
Engage with internal partner organizations to proactively identify opportunities to leverage member, group, broker and external partner feedback and research
Enhance documentation around Blue KC research practices.
Perform Customer Experience practice activities. Participate as a CX team member utilizing CX practice tools such as journey mapping, co-creation, improvement event facilitation, contribute to dashboard design, and consult and sharing voice of customer feedback insights.
Provide project support and oversight to peers and junior quantitative and qualitative research team members.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing research, statistics, business administration, health services administration, or a related academic field.
5 years relevant experience, including analysis of results of projects to improve business performance or quality of healthcare or service, and leading project teams and/or project management; or any combination of required education and experience
Knowledge of marketing research methodologies and techniques
Experience in marketing research, statistics, business administration, health services administration, or a related academic field
Intermediate level knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in marketing research, statistics, business administration, health services administration, or a related academic field.
In-depth knowledge of statistically sound research practices and methodology
Ability to use SPSS or other data analytics program
Knowledge of Qualtrics or other online survey platform
Knowledge of the health insurance industry including HEDIS, CAHPS and Stars
Experience conducting focus groups with members, clients, community members, and executives
