PRIMARY DUTIES:
Acts as an assistant for the Director of Quality, answering inquiries of a general nature from patients, visitors, other departments, nursing staff, and physicians, assisting them in a friendly and cooperative manner.Communicates professionally, consistently, and effectively with all team members to ensure coordination and prioritization of duties and responsibilities.Assist director as needed to answer questions, locate records, assist with computer data entry, report writing, and generating reports.Proficient with computer skills, order entry and maintenance of quality reporting records. Coordinates and tracks quality data. Makes appointments with other departments as needed.Performs clerical duties related to procedures.Willing to learn and work in a self-directed, flexible, agile team approach.Provides assistance to the physician credentialing process by assisting the physician credentialing coordinator.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess excellent computer and keyboard skills. Basic skills in MS Office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote,advanced skills preferred, and demonstrate the ability to learn new skills in this area.Prior experience with excel, creating and/or modifying spreadsheets, and demonstrate the ability to learn new skills in this area.Possess basic knowledge and proper use of office equipment and demonstrate the ability to learn new skills in this area.Possess basic knowledge and understanding of medical terms, tests, and procedures.Work experience as a quality risk data analyst or education/certification is preferred.Possess and demonstrate good communication and customer service skills, and pleasant phone technique and etiquette.Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in a multi-task environment where interruptions may be frequent. Able to assess situations and readily adapt to change.Strong attention to detail needed with ability to run reports and manipulate data.Ability to work independently with minimal direction once job skills are learned.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as defined by hospital policy.Ability to write legibly.Ability to adapt to variations in scheduling (including but not limited to overtime, work schedule changes or low census).Good visual and aural acuity.Maintains well-groomed appearance and practices good personal hygiene.Ability to cooperate with other members of the medical team and personnel of other departments.Willingness to consult with physician, pharmacist, or nursing staff if questions arise.Maintain confidentiality of items/reports that might be obtained or viewed.High school diploma/GED or relevant experience in the medical field preferred.Provides assistance to physician credentialing coordinator, prior experience preferred.
