POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Quality Manager
Reports to: Operations Manager
General Overview:
The Quality Manager (QM) promotes, develops, and oversees compliance ofthe company quality system. The QM will plan, direct and coordinatequality assurance programs as well as formulate and implement qualitycontrol policies. The QM ensures customer satisfaction throughdocumented compliance of customer requirements. The duties will includebut not be limited to improving cost of quality using first-passsystems, methods and practices to improve company efficiency andprofitability.
This position will be based out of North Aurora, IL.
Responsibilities:
Quality System ownershipCreates, implements, and validates quality processes and ensurescompliance with customer requirements, regulatory and externalstandards by writing and managing quality assurance procedures;measuring and documenting evidence; and determining operational andperformance qualifications.Directs and coordinates the activities of Quality team engaged withinspection functions including sampling, analysis and training.Drives cross-functional root cause analysis activities fornon-conformities identifying corrective actions, overseeingimplementation and reporting on results of changes.Customer-engaging interaction as part of root cause analysis andcorrective action reporting.Works internally with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing,and/or directly with customers and suppliers to support qualityrequirements and ensure compliance.Maintains and improves product quality by completing product,company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigatingcustomer complaints; collaborating with other members of managementto develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturingand training methods.Coordinate with purchasing and engineering departments to establishsupplier quality standards and standard specifications.Lead Teams
Supervise team of inspectors who carry out the detailed assessmentof products and their components at different stages of production.Ensure documented quality standards and procedures adequately guideday-to-day production in the facility.Identify, select and propose quality inspection tools and softwarenecessary to support the inspection team.Establish incoming inspection best practices including AQL Sampling.Establish Internal Auditing Team for Production and SystemDocumentation.Train Employees
Ensure that the company is trained in necessary qualityrequirements.Promote a culture of quality, run awareness and award programs.Work with the product development team to establish qualitystandards for newly developed products.Educational/Experience Requirements:
Experience with the creation, implementation and/or system maintenanceof ISO 9001:2008/2015 quality management system.
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification, training, and/or experience ispreferred.
7+ years of progressive experience in Quality or similar role.
