Position Summary:To support and direct the hourly inspection work force in the efforts to assure the highest possible level of quality product supplied to our customer base.Primary Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing production efforts with quality direction.Direct quality support personnel to maximize product intergrity.Review inspection daily worksheet and properly file.Ensure quality inspection records and reports are accurately maintained.Responsible for assuring compliance to calibration requirements is met.Responsible for completion of product annual validations in coordination with Corporate Lab.Support with data collection and evaluation for PPAP's to sister plants.This person has the responsibility and authority to initiate actions to identify and prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products, processes and quality system.Additional responsibilities include the proper notification to the appropriate Quality Engineer to initiate, recommend or provide solutions to reslove the concern.This person shall make himself/herself available to be a member of any multi-disciplined problem solving team to analyze and verify the solution to any concern.Create a work environment in which each employee is respected, feels welcome and safe, and is empowered to do their best.Ensure that employees are properly trained and empowered to execute the job requirements.Communicate work rules and required standards of conduct.Assess employee performance, and initiate employee coaching and discipline as necessary.Ensure employees are trained to safely perform their jobs.Act as a role model and ensure employees model safe behaviors.Initiate and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.Organize and schedule work, including management of breaks, overtime, vacation and absence coverage to achieve production requirements.Ensure conformance to quality procedures and proper application of quality and process controls.Encourage, support and communicate improvement ideas from operators, and assist with implementation once ideas have been approved.Collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams, identifying and proposing possible solutions and supporting their effective implementation.Ensure communication between shifts and that team meetings occur.Participate in meetings with managers to evaluate performance results and planned actions.Ensure that HSE legal and management system requirements for work areas are met.May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this descriptionEducation and Qualifications:
Two to four years in automotive industry within the Quality Department as a Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor or Quality Lead.Ability to identify and resolve day to day technical and operational problems.Analytical skills to gather and interpret product and process testing results.Computer competency required, spreadsheet, charting, and word documentation.Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues.Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary.Work Environment/Work Conditions:
