About QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING)

  Summary You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Shipbuilding) in the Contract Oversight Quality Assurance Division of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will assist senior Quality Assurance Specialists and Supervisors with planning, developing, organizing, administering, evaluating, and managing a comprehensive Contract Administration Quality Assurance Program. You will be provided detailed and specific instructions for developmental tasks and tasks involving the use of unfamiliar formats, methods, and procedures. You will review work specifications and other contract documents to ensure appropriate quality assurance requirements are specified. You will conduct surveillances shipboard and at the contractor’s facilities to ensure program and contract compliance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing and assessing contractor operations and processes related to shipbuilding projects to ensure compliance with contract quality requirements to include product inspection and product deficiency investigations. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Substitution of education for GS-09: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) OR Completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) OR Completion of a LL.B. or J.D., if related (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) Substitution of education for GS-11: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) OR LL.M., if related (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
