Purchasing Supervisor

Purpose:Manage the Purchasing function, which includes scoping and bidding, negotiating and purchasing, ordering, material receipt and payment. Provide exceptional Purchasing leadership for service to our internal mill customers. Ensure that an appropriate, cost effective, flow of goods and services are maintained to provide for steady and continuous operations of the facility.Actively participate in the achievement of the mill's business goals by establishing and maintaining effective Purchasing policies, procedures, and controls. Serve as mill leader in the relationship with Corporate Purchasing for implementation of policies, contracts, and processes.
Key Accountabilities:*Provide direction to Purchasing Department and Storeroom members*Ensure all corporate and local contracts are negotiated in the mill's best interest adhering to Sourcing Policy.*Manage mill contracted repairs and services, rentals and leases, roll covering, repairable spares and motor repair buying.*Manage Capital purchases by working collaboratively with department originators, engineers, corporate purchasing and contractors to ensure that jobs are scoped, bid, purchased and operated to meet our business needs.*Ensure quality of work, deadlines and schedules are in compliance with bid and purchase order requirements.*Ensure Contractor compliance with Contractor Management Safety Program, environmental reporting requirements, and insurance requirements.*Ensure Vendors adopt Billerud Supplier Code of Conduct.*Manage purchased raw materials procurement, inventory levels and MRO materials.*Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and internal customers.Identify and act upon training and development opportunities for self and the team.

Required ExperienceMinimum Required Experience and Education:The qualified candidate will have:
Education:*Bachelor's degree in a related fieldAnd/or*Experience:Ten (10) years or more of Purchasing experience
