About Purchasing Administrator

  Moon Valley Nurseries, a leader in the horticulture industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our corporate team as a Purchasing Administrator. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be instrumental in managing the purchasing process for our extensive range of nursery products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for contributing to the success of a dynamic and growing organization.

  Compensation: $20.00-$25.00 Per hour   Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                        Vendor Management:

  Develop and nurture relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of nursery products.

  Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to optimize value and maintain strong partnerships.

  Inventory Control:

  Collaborate with various departments to determine optimal inventory levels based on seasonal demand and corporate sales forecasts.

  Monitor stock levels, track inventory turnover, and implement strategies to minimize shortages or excess inventory.

  Purchase Order Processing:

  Generate and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.

  Track and manage order status, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise.

  Cost Analysis and Budgeting:

  Conduct regular analysis of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance.

  Assist in the development and management of the annual purchasing budget.

  Quality Assurance:

  Work closely with suppliers to ensure that all nursery products meet Moon Valley Nurseries' quality standards.

  Conduct periodic inspections of incoming shipments to verify adherence to specifications.

  Documentation and Reporting:

  Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all purchasing transactions, including contracts, invoices, and communication with vendors.

  Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities to management.

  Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                                 

  Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in the horticulture or nursery industry.

  Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive vendor relationships.

  Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  Proficient in using relevant software for order processing, inventory tracking, and data analysis.

  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  This position involves monitoring and analyzing credit card payment activity across the entire company

  Education                                                                                                                                                                                              Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience   Physical requirements/Working conditions                                                                                                                                   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
