Berkshire Regional Planning Commission\'s (BRPC) Public Health programseeks a full-time Public Health Nurse (PHN) with a focus on PublicHealth education, wellness, and outreach to improve community health andhealth equity. The PHN will assist in a broad range of initiatives andcontribute to dynamic and complex projects focused on improving publichealth outcomes in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The PHN will alsoassist with disease surveillance using MAVEN, the state\'s onlinedisease reporting system, vaccination clinics, and other wellnessactivities. A bachelor\'s in nursing (BSN) and Massachusetts RN license(or eligibility) are required. At least two years of paid or volunteerwork in community outreach and education, social work, education,nursing, or equivalent experience is required. A master\'s degree orrelevant experience in public health or community nursing, educationcampaigns, community outreach, Berkshire County social service agencies,and equity planning is a significant plus. Spanish oral communicationskills are a plus. In addition to traditional public health nursingactivities, this position will provide staff support for the planningand implementation of a range of significant training and educationprojects that may include: - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - TobaccoControl - Public Health Excellence Regional Training Hub andMentorships - Other projects include but are not limited to: HarmReduction, Prevention, Age and Dementia Friendly, Community HealthImprovement, Environmental and Climate Change Planning, and Rural HealthEquity. Nurses must have access to a vehicle and the ability to travelthroughout Berkshire County at all times of the year to attend meetings,events, and training, as well as support the Boards of Health inidentifying health access service needs in the county. BRPC Nursescurrently have flexible work schedules at the discretion of theirsupervisor. This is not a remote position, as Nurses must be activelyengaged in local activities and events. Full-time Nurses must work aminimum of 35 hours a week with occasional night and weekend meetingsand activities as required. As of December 2023, the starting salaryrange for a Public Health Nurse is \$35.00 - \$38.83, depending oneducation and experience, with an attractive benefits package.
