  Job Summary

  Nurse or Medical Assistant (RN, BSN , EMT , or MA) or six months of vaccine experience preferred. All health care licenses suggested to apply (Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech, PA Nurse Practitioner).

  Supports the BEEHIVE Study, and other funded research projects. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy.

  Flexible schedule to accommodate participants: M-S, evenings, weekends.

  This position collects, and prepares specimens for the laboratory, and maintains accurate medical records of specimens at multiple draw sites.

  Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

  Office Location: 250 S 200 E. Parking fee is covered by the employee.

  Responsibilities

  Essential Functions

  This position will require travel from Ogden to Provo. As a patient-focused organization, the University of Utah Health Sciences exists to enhance the health and well-being of people through patient care, research, and education. Success in this mission requires a culture of collaboration, excellence, leadership, and respect.This position travels to clinics, participant homes and/or workplaces, collects data, administers flu vaccines before flu season starts, collects and processes blood, and assists with other research related tasks as needed.Enters and retrieves computer data.May check client picture identification and obtain photographs and fingerprints.Problem SolvingWork Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:

  Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

  Often: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ), hazards ( includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals ).

  Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

  Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.

  Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.

  Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Preferences

  RN, EMT , or MA license in the state of Utah plus six months related experience preferred. Depending on area of assignment, CCRP , ACRP - CRC , SOCRA - CCRP certification. A current Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Card certification or obtain one within 6 months of employment. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also preffered.

  The hiring department may also prefer experience in a specific area of nursing.

  This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
