Main purpose of job:

　　As a Proposals Engineer – Compressors India, you need to evaluate customer requirements and develop most competitive & complete techno-commercial offer which is aligned to Win the order and meet the company’s strategic goals.

　　Preparation of clear and definitive technical and commercial proposals in accordance with defined scopes of supply.

　　Making calculations for compressor sizing / selection and for peripherals to develop the basic design and engineering of all process equipment and utility systems to accomplish the specific process objectives.

　　Co-ordinate the proposal process between Sales, Supply Chain and various internal functional departments and manage responses in line with the proposal schedule and customer requirements.

　　Support Procurement during supplier negotiations to attain competitive pricing and maximise quote performance

　　Evaluate competitive bids for equipment in order to provide cost effective solutions considering mechanics, electrical, instrumentation, control and piping systems.

　　Identify all national and international codes and standards applicable to a specific project and ensure their utilisation to meet project requirements.

　　Review, in conjunction with various functional departments, enquiry documents and obtain clarifications where required to ensure that company design standards and customer specifications are maintained.

　　Performance verification for specific items of equipment required within the package and interpretation of results into practical and reasonable mechanical details to ensure functional and cost effective solutions.

　　Have appreciation of heat and material balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, pumps, vessels, instruments etc. ensuring compliance with project specs.

　　Attend Technical Clarification Meetings with customers and sub-contractors when required to clarify any technical issues and meet customer needs.

　　Maintain proposal documentation in line with company procedures and policy to ensure compliance with QA standards.

　　Act as a single point of contact for client on techno-commercial issues and manage company/client relationship to ensure the highest level of service.

　　Support during contract introduction, taskforce meetings and contract transfer until the detailed engineering phase

　　Assessment of commercial, technical and delivery risks associated with the project and the capability to execute the contract efficiently and cost effectively.

　　Accountabilities:

　　Effectively monitor project costs to meet or exceed budgeted project margin. Coordinate the timely release of customer progress billing, as applicable.

　　Maintain visibility on both internal and external tasks/issues affecting the timely execution of assigned projects.

　　Maintain internal systems, controls, and RFQ files as necessary. Assist with sales functions as necessary.

　　Introduce process improvements by working with project management, sales, procurement, logistics, etc.

　　Work closely with Projects, Engineering and Quality functions for guidance on complex and technical issues. Other duties as assigned by management.

　　Partners with all central functions to ensure that strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tactics.

　　Team Management, Contract Negotiations, and Contract Closure, Follow the Howden Guidelines on Contractual conditions & Payment Terms.

　　Support accounts and finance department for on time receipt of outstanding payments.

　　Weekly and Monthly Forecasting of Bookings & Sales.

　　Monthly Review Meetings with Product Business Units on Important Topics, Backlog Reports, Improvements etc.

　　Skills, knowledge & behaviours:

　　Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours.

　　5-8 years of experience, having Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in a Business, Engineering or related field.

　　Knowledge of process design techniques and interpretation of results into mechanical equipment details related to processes, compressors, auxiliary systems and peripherals.

　　Application of product specific software tools e.g. compressor selection tool, process simulation tool, and ERP, CAD Inventor, CAD Plan 3D, Vault Pro.

　　Working knowledge of international standards such as ASME, ANSI, PED and API 618 / API 617 / API 619 & API 614 or similar.

　　Relevant commercial business experience with engineered products proposals, as well as services and in managing distribution and sales channels, Industrial, PCOG & heavy industries. (Preferably compressors).

　　A knowledge of compressor systems and rotating equipment system/ process design in mandatory

　　Experience of dealing with supply chain and having established contacts with its key vendors for Rotary packages.

　　Familiarity & Understanding of applicable specs for vessel, Aux skids, Motors, Piping, Panels & Instruments as well as costing trends as per requirement.

　　Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation and customer issue resolution skills.

　　Able to work independently managing time, schedules and customer interface.

　　Proficient in Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
