OverviewThe Proposal Manager will be responsible for project management and content development of business development proposals, including preparing, writing, and submitting timely, compliant, and persuasive proposal documents. The Proposal Manager will also thoroughly review and analyze requests for proposals. The Proposal Manager will collaborate closely with internal operations to create accurate and descriptive portrayals of our company and services for business development.
ResponsibilitiesDirects the efforts of, and works cooperatively with, a team to produce timely and compliant final proposals including narrative, pricing, collateral, and final submission production
Quickly establishes mutually beneficial working relationships with team members and contributors to develop a trusting and respectful environment to collaborateEnsures all internal timelines and external deadlines are metEnsures all finished proposals and related documents contain all required information and documentation and meet company standardsWorks creatively with leadership, operations, sales, and subject matter experts to assist in response design, including strategic alignment with funding customer goalsCollaborates within and outside the team to produce thorough, well-written, and compliant proposals in response to procurement solicitations, including but not limited to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and Invitations to Bid (ITBs) to maintain current business and obtain new businessServes as lead writer (content developer) and/or project manager as assigned for proposal and non-RFP business development projectsConducts research, analyzes data, and adapts findings to develop persuasive, customized proposalsReviews, revises, edits, and incorporates responses from contributors into overall proposalProvides guidance to team and contributors as it relates to aligning the priorities of the proposal process, RFP compliance, company standards, and the needs of the funding customer Facilitates conversations and decision-making when the team and contributors have conflicting ideasAligns projects with company mission, vision, philosophy, and brandingEnsures narrative content and budget details are alignedParticipates in quality and compliance reviews of department projects produced by other team members; may serve as a point of escalation for guidance and inputParticipates in business development activities including contract rebid and new business activitiesMay facilitate initial bid decision conversations to ensure project aligns with company businesses and servicesMay facilitate post-award activities to gather feedback from funders and promote continuous quality improvementPresents information on project, company activities, and progress as invited or required at meetings and conferencesInvolved in training new hires and sharing knowledge with team on an ongoing basis
QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent significant work experience requiredExperience working with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel required; experience with Document Sharing Systems preferredPrior experience working in or writing proposals for organizations in the health services preferredAbility to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels, from administrative support to subject matter experts to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Strong leadership, organizational planning, prioritization, and time management skills; the ability to multitask and work against strict deadlinesFlexibility in the face of rapidly changing circumstances and shifting prioritiesStrong reading comprehension and writing skillsStrong project management skills with high personal accountabilityOrganized and able to work with accuracy and efficiency on multiple projects with multiple teams simultaneouslyExperience in a deadline-driven environment with high attention to detail and complianceExperience in collaborative document construction and revision (may include grant writing)Experience in operations and/or complex project management a plus; experience managing a team a plusDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a quality customer service attitudeDesire to join a high-functioning, collaborative, and supportive team culture
