  Northrop Grumman Remote Sensing Programs Business Unit, within the Payload & Ground Systems Division, is seeking a proven Proposal Manager 1, with experience in the National Security Space sector preferred. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead proposal efforts to deliver compliant, highly scorable deliverables in response to solicitations. The Proposal Manager develops and executes the Proposal Plan while working closely with the Capture Manager and Volume Leads to express the "why us" into the winning proposal. This position is located at Northrop Grumman facilities in Linthicum, MD.

  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Act as the lead for developing the "books" that earn the highest evaluation rating.Define the proposal plan (team, assignments, outline, facilities, networks, formats, production resource requirements). Create, manage, and maintain the proposal schedule.Establish proposal work areas (physical and electronic) and maintain a proposal folder structure.Generate a proposal outline and compliance matrix.Lead the core team and volume leads. Lead internal proposal quality review(s)Prepare and conduct a daily standup with clear direction and actionable instructions to the proposal team.Prepare, distribute, and brief author' guidance and just-in-time-training.Schedule lessons learned sessions.Maintain and manage the proposal action item list. Maintain configuration control of proposal baseline documents and information.Prepare a proposal delivery plan and oversee delivery to the customer. Track workflow progressEnsure adherence to Northrop Grumman's Business Acquisition ProcessBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience working on competitive proposals for U.S. Government customers.Includes at least 1 year of experience in a proposal management role.Experience managing competitive proposals of $20M in value or greater.Experience training, leading, and directing activities of team members through execution of a formal proposal process.Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Government's competitive acquisition process including federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR)Proficiency using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)Must have an active Top Secret or SCI clearance.Preferred Qualifications 6+ years of experience working on competitive proposals for U.S. Government customers.2+ years of experience in a proposal management roleActive DoD SCI security clearanceExperience with U.S. space systems related customers and proposals We offer flexible work arrangements, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment.We offer flexible work arrangements, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment.   Salary Range: $97,200 - $145,800

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
