  Description

  POSITION SUMMARY:

  The Promotional Events and Entertainment Supervisor is responsible for leading development, planning and the day-to-day operations of all in park promotions and events. Will lead the events and entertainment department to include sponsorship, special events, festivals, characters, venue operations, and park streetmosphere. You must be an exceptional listener with excellent leadership, time management and verbal communication skills. You must be self-motivated, competitive and a team player. Good problem-solving skills and a high level of integrity are essential.

  SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Facilitate the planning, development, production and executing of all in park events and festivals such as Character program, Summer Nights, Oktoberfest, and other promotional or entertainment related park installations.

  Provide creativity in the development of park entertainment, including live shows, festivals, character programs, and promotional events.

  Responsible for execution of all Corporate Partnership sampling and duties including signage.

  Manage team on new projects, goals, and all third-party companies.

  Manage train and provide leadership to seasonal Events and Entertainment team, including performers, ushers, characters on job duties in accordance with department and company standards.

  Recruit and hire team members to insure proper staffing levels.

  Oversee the daily operation of shows, on-sight entertainment, festivals, character programs and promotional events.

  Perform periodic performance evaluations of entertainment staff.

  Train, audit, and adhere to all labor laws and guidelines to ensure full compliance with Federal, State, and Park regulations.

  Model and enforce all park policies and procedures and maintain all Six Flags standards.

  Responsible for daily scheduling of all team members.

  Responsible for maintaining the events and entertainment budget set forth by the department manager.

  Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for show venues, event install and other department specific functions.

  Responsible for ordering, storing, and inventorying all supplies, props, and costumes on a yearly basis.

  Comfortable interacting with park guests in-person.

  Serve as a liaison with all operating departments to complete tasks pertinent to all promotional and park events.

  Must communicate clearly and effectively verbally, and in written format.

  Perform all other duties as assigned by Park leadership.

  ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

  Reports to the Marketing, Communications & Events Manager

  Department: Marketing

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  Be at least 18 years of age.

  Experience in theme park entertainment is required, with previous management experience preferred.

  Must possess strong organizational skills and be ability to multitask.

  Computer literacy. Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

  Theatrical, live shows, or technical experience is strongly recommended.

  Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.

  Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  Strong leadership and motivational skills.

  Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  Must have the ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel frequently throughout full shift and lift up to forty pounds occasionally.

  ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Passion for the event industry with a focus on events, theme parks and venue management

  Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  Professional attitude, frequent interaction with guests and clients

  Displays a sense of urgency.

  Team Player

  Analytical capabilities and attention to detail, problem-solving skills

  React well in stressful and emergency situations.

  Be safety conscious, while also outgoing with a friendly demeanor.

  Self-starter, many projects, and tasks will be unsupervised.
