Our talented and collaborative Forestry and Environmental department is seeking a Project Manager, Forestry located in Edmonton, AB to join our growing team. The primary purpose of this role is for client service while maintaining and improving the work environment within the GeoVerra Team.
This position has significant impact with external clients and internal team members, and therefore needs to be connected and live out the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values through actions and results.
What you will do:
Manage client expectations and ensure project deliverables, schedules and budget objectives are met.
Maintain active and professional communication with external clients, internal stakeholders and staff.
Assist on a range of planning & operations-oriented projects in the office and field.
Manage project financial requirements including timely and accurate invoicing.
Improve profitability of projects through coordination, schedule, and scope management.
Conduct field safety audits as part of our safety program commitments.
Quality control, provide technical feedback, review of client deliverables.
Technical writing & editing, regulatory applications, and report preparation.
GIS data creation, attributing, analysis, and mapping.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
What you will bring:
2+ years’ experience performing field work safely and efficiently throughout Alberta.
5+ years of previous project management experience in the forestry or environment industry
Professional Designation in Alberta or BC or Eligibility as RPF, RPFT, P.Biol, or P. Ag. considered an asset.
Field experience in forest planning, harvest operations, wildlife, watercourse, and wetland assessments an asset.
Familiarity with BC or Alberta regulatory framework an asset.
Preferred experience in stakeholder engagement, Indigenous consultation, third party agreements.
Strong awareness of project budget, scope and primary tasks to maintain project schedules.
Demonstrated interpersonal and leaderships skills and the ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work without supervision, effective time management and strong organizational skills.
Superior analytical skills and attention to detail.
Technical, mathematical, scientific, and computer skills including Microsoft office products, ESRI GIS, & GPS.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.
Job conditions
Out-of-town work and some travel may be required.
Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
