  With a long history and proven experience in all types of ecosystem restoration, Stantec is committed to moving our ecosystem restoration initiative forward. We are actively seeking an Environmental Professional with demonstrated Project Management experience to join our established ecosystem restoration team in the Kentucky/Tennessee area. As a senior practitioner, you will be an integral part of our established and talented team, leading design efforts of stream restoration work, mentoring staff while working collaboratively to deliver what our clients need.

  Your Key Responsibilities

  Lead large restoration projects of high complexity, through all phases of a project lifecycle.

  Serve as technical lead, interface with clients, engage local and remote staff, and interact with permitting agencies and partnering consulting firms in the execution of restoration projects.

  Schedule, coordinate, and monitor field logistics for large restoration projects in both an urban and rural setting.

  Manage multiple projects/task orders simultaneously.

  Establish project/task order objectives, procedures, and performance standards.

  Lead multi-disciplinary teams on the preparation of technical drawings and reports.

  Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project/task order objectives.

  Track and manage costs and schedule and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.

  Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management.

  Provide mentoring and training of junior staff.

  Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures.

  Qualifications

  Your Capabilities and Credentials

  Experience with designing ecosystem restoration projects using a variety of techniques.

  Working knowledge of hydrology, stormwater management, water quality issues, and ecology, as well as experience in wetland delineation/mitigation design.

  Expertise in all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.

  Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.

  Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

  Strong presentation and interview skills.

  Experience mentoring junior staff on engineering design, calculations, and development of technical specifications.

  Familiarity with CADD.

  Familiarity with the permitting process and environmental regulations.

  Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).

  Education and Experience

  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agricultural, Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.

  PE, Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner or Professional Wetland Scientist preferred.

  Minimum of 10 years of experience to include relevant consulting experience and experience in a lead design role in projects with significant capital budgets.

  Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

  Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
