Description:
Project Management consultant with a focus on designing, communicating and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project in the manufacturing/ product development environment.
Candidate will perform duties including monitoring progress and performance against the project plan taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
Candidate will be involved in the creation of high level reports and presentations to site leadership.
Will support work in the creation and maintenance of project controls and specifications schedules, cost estimates, production transportation, installation testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure facilities equipment etc.
Identifying developing and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project
Duties may include preparing engineering standards designs and work specifications developing project schedules budgets and forecasts and selecting materials equipment project staff and external contractors.
Project manager applies practical knowledge typically obtained through education and work experience
Manage smaller projects with low complexity or a part of a bigger project with support from a project manager.
Works independently with general supervision.
May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts policies and practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree and at least 2-5 yrs of relevant experience is required.
Experience coming up with operational plans for a technical or manufacturing organization is required.
Experience working with multiple vendors/ companies and negotiation of deliverables and services is required.
Experience managing project controls, specifications schedules and cost estimates required.
Experience working with procurement and buying organizations or functions is required.
Desired experience includes working with the automotive industry or similar high reliability industries.
Desired experience utilizing project management and industrial procurement SW packages in a formalized setting.
