Position Summary:
This position will manage a portfolio of projects and contract development of moderate to high levels of complexity associated with work transfer, capital and other special projects / initiatives as required. An ideal candidate has experience successfully applying traditional project management theories and concepts, a firm understanding of the business / manufacturing environment, excellent communication at all levels of the organization, and ability to collaborate across various functions, and Boeing locations to achieve project / organizational objectives.
In this role, you will support Leadership with program management of critical business changes that have been initiated to make the company stronger, more competitive and more resilient for the long term. These projects are directly aligned as a key part of Boeing’s Business Transformation efforts, enabling millions of dollars in recurring savings as well as improving operational efficiency and material flow.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Leads others and directs all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards)
Oversight, and management responsibility (including performance management & reporting) for a portfolio of small to medium size projects in support of organizational the goals and objectives. Identifies key stakeholder project specific objectives and requirements
Coordinate oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes, as well as cost and schedule performance
Ensures assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per project or proposal development plan
Provides assessment of team performance to appropriate management
Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation
Provides in-depth analysis; identify lessons learned and historical reports to incorporate into future project plans or recommendations on changes to products, pricing, and services
Identifies potential new or expanded opportunities based on product and market knowledge
Supports and executes on the demand planning and forecasting process
Help to provide on-going feedback to organizational leaders
Manage Risk Issue & Opportunity (RIOs)
Help drive strategic direction and deliverables
Create and coordinate development of communication material and content for Executive briefings, organizational and program reviews
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
6-8 years of experience in managing a portfolio of projects
4+ years of experience leading cross-functional and/or project teams
4+ years of experience in project management or project scheduling
3+ years of experience working on multiple projects/programs of various size and complexity
Knowledge of aerospace fasteners or similar products, and related market dynamics
Proficient with standard project management tools /software such as Microsoft Project, Project Web Application (PWA), and other Microsoft Office Applications.
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Education: Bachelor's degree/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master + 3 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Functional experience in at least one other area of the business / manufacturing - such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Facilities, etc.
