We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer at our West Thurrock Manufacturing Site to join the Engineering team working on mechanical Capital projects.
Responsibilities:
Project Design, Scope and Construction management
Developing scope and costs for small capital projects while supporting the overall project team with larger capital projects.
Working with stakeholders (Operations Team, Safety, Quality) to ensure the requirements are compliant with the business needs.
Scope development through best value option analysis
Project Cost estimation for mechanical scope
Building a project schedule
Preparing scope of work enquiries and sharing with purchasing for bidding purposes
Completing technical Best value option analysis to understand which supplier to choose from when multiple bids are in
Placing purchase orders for suppliers in our internal Coupa system
Leading and participating in design reviews.
Managing mechanical construction for the project including writing work permits and supervision in terms of safety and quality of execution.
Ensuring safety is considered the #1 priority
Conducting safety briefing for construction team
Regular safety tours ensuring safety protocols and RAMS is adhered to in all cases
Preparing checklist to confirm quality, functional and operational checks for newly installed equipment and executing the final checks to confirm that the equipment installed is functioning as per design requirements
Ensuring any post start up issues are maintained in a checklist and addressed with urgency

Job Qualifications
Engineering degree or NVQ qualification in engineering
5+ Experience in managing projects/construction in a Process/FMCG environment
Exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail
Self-driven and motivated with an Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Team player and ability to work with multiple stakeholders including Operations, Safety, quality etc to achieve the best outcome for the project
Please note this is a day-based, rather than a shift-based role, you'll generally work 40 hours per week, however there will be occasions when working outside of these hours will be required.
