ATHOL Project Engineer Mechanical Job Summary: Responsible for thedevelopment and documentation of advanced concepts and designs ofcomplex electro-mechanical products. In addition, responsible for theconstruction, test and evaluation of prototype units. Duties andResponsibilities: Develop designs of complex electro-mechanicalproducts, assemblies and components. Complete tasks according toschedule, budget, costs and design objectives. Monitor and report workprogress. Work with Electrical, Software and Mechanical Engineers,Designers, Drafters, Technicians and Toolmakers assigned to the project.Assemble and test prototype units and mockups. Design fixtures andpackaging for new products. Participate in the creation of EngineeringSpecifications, cost, manpower, capital, and expense estimates, alongwith task lists, milestones and schedules related to the development ofnew products. Participate with development teams and interface withManufacturing Engineer, Production, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Vendors,Subcontractors and Customers on issues related to design, manufacture,use of parts or products. Provide input to maintain documentation,standards, and guidelines. Maintain technical proficiency in design andECAD skills. Maintain awareness of competitive products anddevelopments. Maintain optimum working conditions and housekeeping.Comply with safety rules and regulations. Assume additional roles andresponsibilities as required. Qualifications: Skilled in the use of ECADtools (Solid Edge, Unigraphics) Skilled in the use of spreadsheet andword processing tools. Ability to design, assemble, and troubleshootelectronic precision tools. Develop solutions to solve operationalissues with new devices. Experience with one or more of the followingtools and methods; Design of Experiments, Design For Manufacturabilityand Assembly (DFMA) Basic understanding of electro-mechanical design isrequired. Education Requirements: Minimum 4 years Bachelors Degree inMechanical Engineering Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years experiencein a Manufacturing Industry
