About the Department
The geriatrics program at The University of Chicago has been recognizedfor its excellence in patient care, teaching, and research for manyyears. U.S. News and World Report has consistently rated our geriatricsprogram one of the top programs in the state of Illinois and in thenation. Since its inception in 2000, the Section of Geriatrics andPalliative Medicine has grown from seven full-time faculty members totwelve full time faculty members, making it one of the larger programsin the country. Together with approximately six geriatrics fellows peryear and more than thirty research, clinical, and administrative staff,we are devoted to improving the care of the nation\'s older adultsthrough our research, training, and patient care programs describedbelow.
Job Summary
The Project Coordinator will be instrumental in supporting a variety ofactivities of the SHARE Network across various sectors and settings.Reporting to the Administrative Director, your duties will involve bothlong-term and short-term tasks, team coordination and individual projectmanagement, and maintaining current initiatives as well as exploring newinitiatives. This role requires a proactive approach to identifyingpotential programmatic issues and enhancing operational activities. Theideal candidate will be mission-driven, flexible, reliable, and a greatcommunicator. Exceptional organization skills and a comfort withmultitasking is a must. The SHARE Network has many ongoing initiativesand programs.
Responsibilities
Plans, supports, and coordinates regular community events incollaboration with internal and external partners.Creates and organizes project-related handouts by ensuring allnecessary materials are current, accurate, printed regularly, andproperly filed and stored.Maintains and regularly distributes Resource Guide to Hubs and othercommunity partners.Coordinates activities of students and other learners.Coordinates activities of Community Advisory Board.Enters and manages quantitative and qualitative data documentingSHARE Network activity.Provides administrative support and database managementresponsibilities as assigned.Assists with ongoing workforce education interventions in long-termcare, hospital and clinic settings; create newsletter, plan events.Oversees and enhances content for website.Creates and grows audience for email newsletter and social mediapresence.Represents the SHARE Network at community events as needed.Facilitates small groups as needed.Maintains inventory and re-order supplies.The position requires traveling locally. Must have a car andinsurance.Maintains technical and administrative support for a researchproject.Maintains recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assistingwith developing or amending study protocols; assisting withdeveloping data collection tools; assisting with building databases;and providing general administrative support. Has general awarenessin research techniques or methods, regulatory policies andprocedures, and relevant scientific field.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
