PROJECT COORDINATOR - WORKFORCE

Description
Under general supervision, the class coordinates the administration, development and implementation of a specific project or program moderate in size and scope for a City department
Essential Duties
Serves as a program or project manager for portfolio of Workforce Services project and initiatives· Assist staff and work operations to ensure established goals and objectives are met
Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of program operations
Plans work schedules and priorities for project activities
Participates in preparing project or program operating budgets and monitors budget expenditures
Designs, implements and monitors procedures utilized in program evaluation
Develops marketing strategies to encourage participation in City projects and programs
Monitors project and program expenditures, audits and approves contractor and consultant vouchers for payment
Acts as a liaison with City departments, public and private agencies and business organizations to secure commitments in providing services to program participants, sharing program information and obtaining additional funding support
Monitors and provides direction to consultants engaged in administering program activities
Prepares narrative and statistical program status reports
Attends community, civic and business organization meetings to promote department programs or Citywide initiatives
· Collects and analyzes project data for performance and outcomes
· Develops and prepares written requests for proposals (RFP’s) for programs within the Worforce Services Division portfolio according to DFSS guidelines.

Shift : Monday-Friday
Hours : 9:00am – 5:00pm
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning, or a related field, plus three years of experience in program administration or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Selection Criteria
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral part of the interview will be selected
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
Previous experience working with workforce service agencies and providing technical assistance.
Previous experience with service agency program monitoring and fiscal auditing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Previous project management experience or training with a specific emphasis on service delivery to vulnerable populations such as homeless, English language learners, and returning residents
Previous experience working in the field of Workforce development and Social Services.
Previous experience preparing written request for proposals and formatting them to specific guidelines
