TDA Research, Inc., located outside Denver, Colorado with researchoffices in Wheat Ridge and Golden, is seeking a Project Accountant. Thecompany has a staff of over 120, which consists of mainly engineers andscientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, andhardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy, and chemicalindustries. 　　Under the supervision of the CFO, the Project Accountant is responsible formonitoring the financial aspects of projects while they are being completed.This includes investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuringthat project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. Theproject accountant will also be involved in best practices activities tostreamline the flow of project-related information, basic accountingduties, audit support requests, and other projects as needed.

　　Roles and Responsibilities:Create project accounts in the accounting systemMaintain project-related records, including contracts and change ordersAuthorize access to project accountsAuthorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accountsReview and approve supplier invoices related to a projectReview and approve time sheets for work related to a projectAssist in project budget preparationReview account totals related to project assets and expensesInvestigate project variances and submit variance reports to managementConfer with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billingsReport on project profitability to managementReport profit or loss on closed projects and identify opportunities torecognize additional revenueReport to management regarding the remaining funding available for projectsCreate or approve all project-related billings to customersRespond to requests for more detail from customersApprove the write-off of any project-related billings that cannot bebilled to or collected from customersClose out project accounts upon project completionCreate and submit government reports related to projectsCompile information for internal and external auditors, as requiredOther duties or special projects as requested

　　Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Degree in accounting or finance requiredApplicant must be a critical thinker, curious, diligent,organized, self-motivated, able to work well as part of a team, andability to handle confidential informationExcel in a time-sensitive, deadline driven environment with the abilityto prioritize and keep a positive outlookDetail oriented problem solverSuperior verbal and written communication skills

　　Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience with JAMIS software and/or Microsoft Dynamics SLproject-based accounting software is a plusKnowledge of Government Contractor Cost Accounting requirements andunderstanding of FAR/DFARs requirements is a plus

　　Physical Demands and Work Environment:Remaining in a stationary positionFine motor skills for use of a computer, keyboard and phoneClose vision for computer workModerate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, andprinters, light traffic)

　　The annual salary range is $80,000 - $90,000, plus the completebenefits package and opportunities for advancement.
