Job Description
To assist the Director in the smooth and efficient operation of the ODU Peninsula Center. To provide critical administrative and logistical support to staff, faculty, students, and corporate/government/nonprofit users of the facility. To serve as facilities manager providing oversight and coordination of facilities maintenance, emergency management planning and support, providing coordination of facility use and scheduling. This position serves as the Proctor and coordinator for all testing at ODU Peninsula.

Considerable knowledge of effective customer service techniques and problem resolution.
Working knowledge of PC-related software including Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), Customer/Student Management System, scheduling software and information systems such as BANNER . Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to function as a team member. Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others. Demonstrated ability to maintain a filing or record keeping system.

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in general office management, customer service, and scheduling and problem-solving. Considerable experience using multiple computer applications and ensuring accuracy & currency — for example in scheduling of facilities, proctors, and/or generating reports.
Considerable experience providing administrative support and collaborating with coworkers.
Some experience providing customer service in a higher education and/or business environment.
Some experience in scheduling and facilities/operations management. Some experience in generating reports and creating promotional materials/flyers to support outreach initiatives.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Extensive experience providing customer service and/or administrative support in a higher education setting. Considerable experience with BANNER or similar people/data management systems. Some experience in administrative training to staff in customer service standards, phone etiquette, policies and procedures. Some experience in emergency management planning.
Earned bachelor’s degree in Business, Park, Recreation and Tourism Management, Facilities Management, Hospitality or related degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Conditions of Employment
Daily reporting location for this position is at ODU Peninsula in Hampton and is not telework eligible.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 31,886
